Re: Chords all flip to 'hold?'

Thank you. I don't think this could be the case. There were approximately 20 chords entered in a 32 bar chorus, only 4 of which had holds. Prior to the 'flip' and after I updated every chord and removed the holds the chord sheet showed the chords without holds in black. It was only after playing that everything flipped.

Weird, indeed!

I haven't run into that problem -- have you rebooted your computer and restarted BIAB to see if that persists with the saved file or whether it was simply a glitch in that particular instance running BIAB.

Please keep us posted.

Re: Chords all flip to 'hold?'

Thanks, David ...

No, I haven't exactly done as you as ask, but other than trying to reload the file later, I think the other issues are eliminated as follows. When I closed the file and opened another one to modify it and then later created an additional new file I did so without restarting BIAB ... so that pretty much takes care the 'restarting' aspect of your question.

I've also noted that when I push BIAB hard, i.e., style and individual RealTrack changes and bar mutes, etc. with Bar Settings and then return an edit some of those changes with regeneration things can get funky. For an example, I have a large collection of acidized files. When I audition them through BIAB, after about 5 or 6 auditions I frequently get an 'Access Denied' message and a warning to save and restart BIAB. When I do so, the file I was trying to audition when this occurred auditions normally. Also, and similarly, when selecting loops, the track file description in the mixer changes/ updates erratically. Sometimes it updates and sometimes it doesn't.

I had done extensive editing and regeneration of the file that flipped to all holds. Maybe I'm just pushing past the outer limit boundaries.

Re: Audiophile Hard Drive Question?

David H. Bailey <dhbailey@...>

It has been my experience that you can authorize BIAB on two computers with the same serial number.

You can also continue to use your old serial numbers with the appropriate versions they came with. Purchasing an upgrade does not prevent a previous serial number from working, at least in my experience.

You shouldn't need to buy a second BIAB license to use your current version on your laptop as well as your desktop computers.

I have never purchased the audiophile versions, so I am only speaking from experience with the megapak versions. But I've had multiple versions of BIAB working on the same machine at the same time, and I've got the current version working on two different computers.

So you should be fine without spending any more money. Especially not after you've spent the cost of the audiophile versions!

Chords all flip to 'hold?'

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I was working on a progression making changes as I went along with holds, shots and pushes to get the rhythm I wanted  and ... voila! everything on the chord sheet turned red and all chords entered showed 'holds.'

I reverted and reentered the chords removing the holds and saving every 4 measures to maintain my reentries and the first time the song played correctly, but on second play went silent on all but one track and the chord sheet again showed all chords red with holds.

Weird.

Re: Audiophile Hard Drive Question?

D F Tweedie

Thanks to all: Hayward, Frank and Mr. Dave ...

There is still a tiny sliver of 'unknown,' i.e., using the earlier hard drives as I'd like to keep the latest one with new RealTracks, etc. stored away ... but basically you've sorted me out.

I was ignorant of the 3 installations. As I've already relocated the contents of my 2021 Audiophile to an internal hard drive I can use the 2021 version with my laptop or simply copy the additional 2021 data to the 2017 version.

I'll now wipe and reformat the oldest one for back up storage.

Best to all.

I hope my emails are going through? They seem to come back to me from the server ... but my previous two queries regarding RealTracks did not get a single reply.

Hopefully this one will bring some feedback.

So, I now have 3 Audiophile hard drives. As I understand, since I've upgraded, the program authorizations from my earlier two are invalid.

I would dearly like to be able to use the next to last one on my laptop, as the most recent one is authorized to my studio desktop.

So, here's the question (s). If I purchase a second BIAB license with just the basic software and install it on my laptop will I be able to use the data on the other hard drive with all the RealTracks?

Of, if the data is encrypted in some way (which I am pretty sure it is not), does PG Music have some consideration to let me 'authorize' use of the older Audiophile with an additional license?

Thanks for any input.

hELLO rEJJIE, ILL TRY TO EXPLAIN

If I look in this folder(on my PC): C:\bb\Demos\RealTracks - Demos\
then inside this folder I have: 11826 directories & files.

My question is: What styles did you use to make the demos (wma-files) for the instruments-demos that is inside this folder?

LET ME EXPLAIN: IN THIS FOLDER You first have have a lot of directories (like RealTracks115 Demos) ...
---then comes all the demos like "_1CHANCE Demo" (SGU-files),

---then you have the demos(6035 wma-files) for the instruments

The first one is: Accordion, Rhythm EuropeanFolkWaltzCory Sw 140 #3083 band.wma & Accordion, Rhythm EuropeanFolkWaltzCory Sw 140 #3083 solo.wma

When they made the demos (like #3083 band.wma), you must have used a certain STYLE for this wma-demo.

Doanyone you knows what style PGMusic used, to make these wma-files?

(as mentioned on this page: Accordion, Rhythm EuropeanFolkWaltzCory Sw 140 #3083 solo.wma)
and the other other wma-file, when you hear the same instrument in a style, or as the call it..together with a band(style),,,(as mentioned on this page: Accordion, Rhythm EuropeanFolkWaltzCory Sw 140 #3083 band.wma)

The point is (and I still haven't got an answer from PGMusic)..... when they made these audio tracks(wma-files), they must have used a sgu-file with a certain style. (from the REAL-tracks)
Where they knew that instrument was in

If they (PGMusic or somone else)can tell me what styles the used for the different demo-instryments, can I could easyly make a database of which instrument that goes with each stle.

I write this again since my question was not-so-good explained:
